 NBLT as a community partner

We work in partnership with many schools, agencies and associations to deliver sporting and other engaging activities in the community.

As a provider of health, sport, educational and recreational services across Warwickshire we work in partnership with many schools, agencies and associations to deliver sporting and other engaging activities in the community for children, young people and even adults. The following information provides a flavour of some of our partnerships and the activities that aim to support different people in our community.

 Sports provision and development:

We provide a range of sports provision and development opportunities for those within the Nuneaton and Bedworth areas, including:

  • Providing sporting activities, guidance and advice on healthy living to young people aged 8 - 24 years (with funding from the Warwickshire Police & Crime Commissioner).

  • Committing to providing sports for disabled young people and employing a dedicated Disability Inclusion Sports Co-ordinator (DISCO) (through funding from Children in Need and by working in partnership with Sports Works).

  • Delivering grass roots football development training via a programme designed by Coventry City football academy (in partnership with Sky Blues in the Community).

  • Supporting the development of football for children through providing a state of the art artificial grass pitch (AGP), ensuring that the pitch is used to its full potential and used by the community for sports development (with funding from the Football Foundation, via The Football Association).

 Mentoring and volunteering:

We offer mentoring and volunteer support in a number of ways, including:

  • Providing high quality development, support and liaison work, including mentoring of older young people and adult volunteers within the community, with the aim of increasing the number of volunteers and the impact that volunteering has at a local level (as a member of Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action Agency).

  • Continually looking at opportunities to work with and support children and young people in our community: offering opportunities for them to become sports volunteers, building on their practical experience to support their academic qualifications (as a member of Warwickshire Children and Voluntary Youth Services).

 Educational support:

We offer support to local schools in a number of ways, including:

  • Working closely with junior, secondary and specialist schools across the county to support students at risk of or who have been excluded (working as a Warwickshire County Council approved deliverer).

 Health and wellbeing:

We actively support and encourage the health and wellbeing of those within the local community in a number of ways, including:

  • Delivering the Warwickshire Physical Activity / Healthy Lifestyles on Referral service for young people aged 12-16 and adults (in partnership and on behalf of Warwickshire Health)
