 NBLT's Trustees

A not-for-profit organisation, NBLT is run by a Management Board comprising a group of Trustees.

As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, NBLT is run by The Management Board, which is the governing body ultimately responsible for the actions and activity which the charitable organisation does. The Management Board is responsible for supervising the Senior Management Team and ensuring that NBLT is being well managed and operating within agreed policies, the law and its budget.

The Management Board is made up of Trustees. The Trustees’ act together as a group rather than as individuals in the furtherance of the charitable objectives of the organisation.

How the Trustees ensure high standards

As well as acting in accordance with their duties and liabilities under the Companies Act 1985, the Insolvency Act 2006, and complying with good practice in corporate governance; NBLT’s Trustees also ensure high standards are maintained by adhering to a Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct encapsulates:

  • Selflessness: to act in the best interests of NBLT as a whole.

  • Integrity: to not be influenced by outside individuals or organisations

  • Objectivity: to ensure that all decisions are made solely on merit

  • Accountability: to be accountable for their decisions and to comply with the law

  • Openness: to be open with their decisions and actions, and to ensure that all information is handled with due care

  • Honesty: to declare any conflicts of interests and take steps to resolve them

  • Leadership: to lead by example and respect the role of the General Manager
